Luke 21.5-19 (CEB; adapted): [1] 5 Some people were talking about the temple, how it was decorated with beautiful stones and ornaments dedicated to God. Jesus said, 6 “As for the things you’re admiring, the time is coming when not even one stone will be left upon another. All will be demolished.” 7 They asked him, “Teacher, when will these things happen? What sign will show that these things are about to happen?” 8 Jesus said, “Watch out that you aren’t deceived. Amen.                                     The Lessons Habakkuk 1.1-4; 2.1-4 (CEB; adapted): [1] 1 The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet saw. 2 YHWH, how long will I call for help and you not listen? I cry out to you, “Violence!” but you don’t deliver us. 3 Why do you show me injustice and look at anguish so that devastation and violence are before me? There is strife, and conflict abounds. 4 The Instruction is ineffective. Justice doesn’t endure because the wicked surround the righteous. Justice becomes warped. 2.1 I’ll take my post; I’ll ...
